Who we are

Parallax is run by Jethro Go, an individual based in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila, Philippines. We make the Parallax Trading Journal and the Parallax Trade Sync study for Sierra Chart. You can reach us at support@parallaxchart.com. By creating an account, starting a trial or buying, you agree to these terms.

Who sells to you

Orders are processed by our payment provider, which acts as reseller and merchant of record. It takes your payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. Its own buyer terms apply to the payment itself.

Who can use the journal

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to buy or use the journal. You may not use it where the law of your country, or sanctions that apply to you, don't allow it.

Your account

You need an account to use the journal. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Licence

While you have an active trial, subscription or lifetime purchase, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the journal by signing in to your account. A paid plan lets you sign in on more than one of your own computers, up to the number of devices shown in your account. The Parallax Trade Sync study is enabled for the one Sierra Chart username you enter in your account. You may not share, resell, rent or sublicense your account or licence, or copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the software, except where the law allows it.

Acceptable use

Use the journal and the study only for your own trading records. Don't attack, overload or try to break into our server, use another person's account or Sierra Chart username, or use the software to break the law.

Our intellectual property

The software, the study, this website and the Parallax name and logo belong to Jethro Go. These terms give you a licence to use the software, not ownership of it. Your trades, notes and screenshots remain yours.

Free trial

New users can use the journal free for 7 days from sign-up. Each computer can have one free trial only; a computer that has already had a trial can't start another, even with a different email address or account. The trial can't be extended. During the trial every feature is available except the Suggested plan. When the trial ends without a paid plan, the journal becomes read-only: you can view, export and back up your data, but can't import, edit or analyse it, or receive new trades from Sierra Chart. Your data isn't deleted when a trial ends. Trying to get around these limits, for example by changing your computer's clock, modifying the software or creating extra accounts, breaks these terms and may lead to your access being suspended.

Subscriptions

Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email; cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. If a renewal payment fails, access may stop until the payment goes through. We will tell you before a price change applies to your subscription.

Lifetime purchase

A lifetime purchase is a single payment for the journal and its updates, for as long as we offer the journal. It doesn't include other products we may sell later. It belongs to your account and can't be transferred.

Payments are not refundable

Please use the free trial before you pay. Payments are not refundable, except where the law of your country gives you a right to a refund that can't be excluded. See the refund policy.

Using the journal offline

The journal checks your plan with our server about once a day. A subscription keeps working offline until the end of the last period the journal confirmed, plus 3 days; after that, the journal needs to connect once to keep full access. A lifetime purchase keeps working offline. A trial ends on its end date, online or offline.

Your data

Your trades, notes and screenshots stay on the computer where you record them. Each computer you use keeps its own journal: data isn't copied between your computers or to our server. You are responsible for keeping backups; the journal can make them for you. What we do receive is described in the privacy policy.

Sierra Chart

Sierra Chart is made by Sierra Chart Engineering, which isn't connected with Parallax. You need your own Sierra Chart licence. We aren't responsible for changes Sierra Chart makes that affect the journal or the study, but we will try to keep them working.

No investment advice

Our software records and analyses your own trading. It doesn't give investment advice, trade calls or signals, and nothing in it promises results. Trading futures carries a substantial risk of loss. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions.

No warranty

The software is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that it will be free of errors or interruptions, or that the figures it shows are complete or exact. Check important figures against your broker's statements.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the software. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Claims caused by you

As far as the law allows, if someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law while using the software, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with that claim.

Suspension and ending

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing it, getting around the trial limits or attacking our systems. You can stop using the journal and ask us to delete your account at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes, we will tell you by email or in the app before they apply.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines. If you have a problem, please email us first; most issues can be settled that way. If not, the courts of Metro Manila, Philippines, will decide, unless the law of your country gives you the right to go to your own courts.

Your local laws

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
